The Walter and Shirley Wang Scholarship Fund
Established by Walter Wang and University Trustee Shirley Wang ’93BUS, the Walter and Shirley Wang Scholarship Fund provides landmark support for US military veterans enrolled in the Columbia School of General Studies, which has the highest undergraduate veteran student enrollment among its peers.
Paros Lamont Research Professorship in Climate Science Research and Carbon Management at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory and Paros Professorship in Geohazards and Climate Mitigation at the Climate School
Two new professorships supported by Jerome M. Paros will focus on the integration of different technologies and promote cross-disciplinary approaches to develop solutions for climate mitigation and carbon management. A Decarbonization Monitoring & Instrumentation Initiative has also been launched to address the consequences of global warming and the need to remove CO2 from our atmosphere.
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Precision Psychiatry and Mental Health
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Precision Psychiatry & Mental Health is an initiative that aims to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness by applying the advances of precision medicine to psychiatry, tackling the stigma surrounding mental illness, and improving mental health care for all with novel treatments and therapies. The center is being established with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), as part of SNF’s Global Health Initiative (GHI).
